Thumbs up to DT for finally making a Cocoa Client, testing will begin shortly.

I'm already surprised by the feature completeness of the client, and how true to the carbon one it is. I thought for sure that the default cocoa text box would be used for input but right now it's a carbon copy (hehe).

That is unless this is something else than a Cocoa client, but it is definitely an Universal client.

Yeah, what is this all about anyway?

Is this that 'other' version of CL that came with the latest update? What exactly is its purpose? Is it really meant to give us a sneak peek of whats coming? I really slow when it comes to these things, could someone fill me in please?

Right now Clan Lord on Intel macs needs Rosetta to run. In the future there is a good chance that Apple will no longer support/offer Rosetta, and Clan Lord will not run on them. This new client is one that will run on Intel macs, and even PPC macs, without the need for Rosetta.

Really it's just future-proofing Clan Lord for what Apple will do in the future.

In all this I should state that I am merely assuming that the client is Cocoa based, I may be completely wrong and it's actually a Universal compile of the Carbon app (with appropriate under the hood changes). Which from my limited poking seems to be the case...

I tried it in the previous iteration (v642) and it seemed pretty stable to me.

Can you tell us more for example if the macros or equivalent are better for example including a /shcads by default?

Exactly the same.

P.S. Thread title changed to reflect reality (it's a universal binary client, not my dream; a cocoa client).
