Wherefore art thou, Judder?

Postby Elise » Wed Oct 05, 2005 6:28 pm

I don't know anyone who has found Judder or Tremolite. I know some to claim to, but that is the joke -- it is apparently nowhere to be found!

One wonders if these two are more ephemeral than mineral. I feel a bit like Coronado.

We'll keep lookin' but one wonders if perhaps someone might check to make sure that it's really spawning. It seems odd that its been out 3 months and none is for sale.

I imagine it has to be available somewhere for the GMs to keep asking us what it is...

I suppose when someone finds it we will then have to hunt for it's use (or cure if it's a problem)

Heya Folks

I know this might sound silly but I am going to bring it up anyway. I think 'Judder' has something to do with the increased number of earthquakes we have been experiencing. Of course I could be way off...

Someone has found a judder before, because someone showed it to Lyzer at the refining place, and is now listed in the book. So far no one has shown Lyzer a tremolite ore, though.

*Wherefore* art thou, Judder...

Postby Kerrah » Thu Oct 06, 2005 4:24 pm

Are you meaning the literal meaning of the word "wherefore," and asking why Judder supposedly exists? The true meaning of the word wherefore, after all, is why, not where.

Case in point:

Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name.

In this Juliet is asking why Romeo has to be who he is, since their love would be allowed if only he were not a Montague. She's not, as is the common misconception, looking around saying "Romeo, dude, where are you?"

Ah, I did learn something in 7th grade, after all...

Yay. Seventh-grade pseudo-intellectual pedantry. It could have been a wonderful reply about polyontology, amphibology, double entendre, or even just yadda-yadda.

But no,

Look people, if you're going to continually use words I have to look up, I'm closing this thread.

if you have Tiger, you can do cmd-control-D to look up words. Makes deciphering sesquipedalian rhetoric nice and easy. Plus you can learn words like callipygian.

Wooo! I love you! ('course the D part didn't work for me, but cmd-cntl-click brought up the appropriate context menu.)

Had the same problem until I reinstalled Tiger fresh, other people seem to have had similar issues from the 10.3 upgrade install.
